- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (or milk alternative)
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the oats, milk, cocoa powder, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Sweeten to taste with honey or maple syrup.
- Divide the mixture into two airtight containers or jars.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- Before serving, stir well and top with additional fresh fruit, nuts, or a sprinkle of chocolate shavings if desired.
