Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 oz hot sausage (Italian or your choice), cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce or pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
- Fresh arugula or spinach (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Pre-Bake the Dough: Brush the dough with olive oil and pre-bake it in the oven for 5 minutes, until it begins to firm up but isn’t fully cooked.
- Add Sauce and Cheese: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the pre-baked crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Add Sausage and Feta: Evenly distribute the cooked sausage over the pizza, followed by the crumbled feta cheese.
- Bake: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Add Honey: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Drizzle the honey evenly over the top of the pizza.
- Garnish and Serve: If desired, top the pizza with fresh arugula or spinach. Slice and serve hot.
