For the Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet instant yeast (about 2 ¼ tsp)
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Filling
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup diced onion
- ½ cup diced tomato, patted dry
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Let rest for 10 minutes.
- Cook Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Drain and set aside.
- Assemble Rolls: Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the cooked beef, bacon, onion, tomato, and cheese evenly over the dough. Roll up tightly and slice into 12 pieces.
- Bake: Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve with your favorite burger condiments.
